While I was in Orlando for the Disney Princess Half Marathon, I was able to grab dinner at Sugar Factory Orlando, and it was quite the experience. If you can’t tell already, I love all things colorful and happy and fun. Sugar Factory was made for people like me.Sugar Factory

One of my best friends Mary (who blogs over at Seersucker Optional) just happened to be in Orlando with her husband at the same time, so Ryan and I got together with them to enjoy a fun dinner at Sugar Factory. And oh my was it fun. I have to share that when speaking to Mary ahead of time, she suggested going to either Sugar Factory or a nice seafood restaurant. After she described Sugar Factory to me and I looked it up online, there was no contest. In predictable Aria fashion, I went for the sugar-filled, brightly colored restaurant! And I had to go wearing a colorful, fun outfit for the occasion. I chose my new Draper James skirt and tee, and it went perfectly!Sugar Factory Orlando

Overall, I really enjoyed our experience at Sugar Factory Orlando. Below I have listed the top things I liked about the restaurant, including  some recommendations if you’re planning a visit there soon!

The Colorful Atmosphere of Sugar Factory Orlando

As I said earlier, I love bright colors. And the colorful atmosphere in Sugar Factory Orlando was amazing to me. It seemed like a fun, grownup version of Willy Wonka’s candy factory. When you walk in, there’s a little gift shop filled with all kids of different types of candy and Sugar Factory merch. I really wanted to buy a stuffed unicorn, but I held myself back. From the moment we walked in, I could tell it was a fun place. The whole vibe of the restaurant felt like a place to let loose and have a good time.Sugar Factory Orlando

The Music and Dancing Waiters/Waitresses

This had to be one of my top highlights from our Sugar Factory experience. In addition to loving bright colors, I also love dancing and upbeat music. And let me tell you, the music pumping all through Sugar Factory was loud and upbeat and just everything I never knew I needed. I could barely hear what the people at my table were saying, but I loved it. We were dancing and singing at the table and just having a great time. And what made the experience even better was that the waiters and waitresses dancing.Sugar Factory Orlando

I guess Sugar Factory is a popular place to go to celebrate a birthday. Every ten minutes or so, the DJ turned the music up extra loud and all the wait staff came out dancing and carrying a sparkly dessert for the tables celebrating birthdays. It was the greatest restaurant birthday celebration routine I’ve ever seen. I was really wishing it was my birthday. What made it so great was not just that they were dancing, but they all genuinely looked like they were having fun. A part of me was also wishing that I worked there so I could dance on top of a table with spoons. But to be honest, do I need to be paid to dance on a table with spoons? Probably not.

The HUGE Goblet Drinks

When Mary first told me about Sugar Factory, she sent me a video of giant smoking goblet drinks being made and that was part of what sold me on the place. A colorful drink that’s the size of my head? Sign me up! I love a good drink every now and then, especially when I’m kid-free and trying to let loose a little. Since this was a fun kid-free vacation, I was really looking forward to sipping on some fun cocktails, and Sugar Factory did not disappoint.

I had a tough time deciding which goblet flavor to go with because they all looked delicious. But, I knew I wouldn’t be able to have more than one so I needed to choose wisely. I ended up going with the Lollipop Passion, it’s Sugar Factory’s signature goblet and it’s a mix of melon, coconut and pineapple. My Lollipop Passion tasted delicious and had a super sweet and nice tropical flavor to it. Plus, it had these fun rainbow lollipops and candy necklaces in it!

Rainbow-Colored Food

So we started off with the giant goblet drinks, and then we went for something non-sugary: the most adorable rainbow burger sliders. The slider buns came in fun rainbow colors and they were pretty delicious too. I have to admit that I’m a pretty picky eater, but the sliders had some signature sauce on them and I actually tried it and liked it. I recommend the Sugar Factory Sliders. They were yummy and very photogenic, and they came with a cute little rubbery ducky!

I went with a safe choice for my entrĂ©e since I was focusing on my sugar while at Sugar Factory. I had the grilled four cheese sandwich with fries (I’m such a boring eater!), it was really good. It’s not difficult to make a good grilled cheese sandwich. But, I really did enjoy the mix of provolone, Swiss, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses in the sandwich.

So Much Sugary Goodness

After getting the savory foods out of the way, it was back to sugary goodness. We decided we had to go with the insane milkshakes for dessert. These were the kind of crazy milkshakes you see all over Instagram, overflowing with treats. I chose the Caramel Sugar Daddy Cheesecake, cause I love caramel and it looked really good.

The shake had a vanilla flavor with cheesecake pieces, caramel sauce and whipped cream. Then it also had a slice of NY style cheesecake, a piece of Sugar Daddy candy and a big rainbow lollipop on top. The mug was also half covered in chocolate and graham crackers. It tasted like a thick, sweet classic vanilla milkshake with a little something extra. I’d definitely get an insane milkshake again. I was really full from eating the rest of the meal and drinks, but I finished almost all of my milkshake because it was that good.

Sugar Factory Orlando

Overall, I really recommend Sugar Factory if you want to have a fun, sugar-filled dining experience. If you’re looking for somewhere to have a quiet dinner, this is not the place for you. But, if you like dance music, bright lights and sugar, you need to go to Sugar Factory Orlando ASAP!Sugar Factory Orlando
